The only request JM had when we booked Yasmine was the cat stickers. Luckily, she was as cool as she looks, and the three of us spent the afternoon having fun while trying out some new bits (Gold 001!) as well as some old bits (vintage lashes!). And while I know that yes, you probably won't go walking around with gold superhero eyes or spidery lashes, the whole point is to be inspired. Inspired for your own looks, inspired for what you create on others, and more than anything, inspired to not always take beauty so seriously.
While I was prepping Yasmine, there was a package delivered to my doorstep from Josie Maran Cosmetics with the new Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid in a handful of shades. As if divine intervention, of course I had to use it on the shoot and I'm so glad I did!
Product Tip: This medium to full coverage foundation needs very little to get going, and can be layered for depth. The argan oil base keeps the skin healthy and sheeny without the need of highlighter! I'd say start with less until you see how your skin reacts to it, and make sure to use a lighter moisturizer underneath if you don't want to appear oily. Use a dampened Beauty Blender to help the foundation melt into the skin seamlessly.
Look 2 - Cat Stickers from my friend Daria (thanks Daria!) but that beautiful pink wash on the lids is from Maybelline. The new Eyestudio Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayons are awesome for scribbling color across the lid and under the lashline for a beautiful sheen. Pink Parfait is used here, but there is a range of colors from light to dark for all styles of smokey eyes.
Look 3 - So fun finally using these vintage lashes I've had for years!!
Look 5 - my FAVORITE!! I've been saving this blue mascara from Sumita Cosmetics forever, waiting for the perfect time to use it. It's one of those tricks you can only use a few times before it's played out, so you have to choose your moments wisely! The bad news is they don't make this color anymore, but they do make another amazing vibrant blue that you'll love!
