Our shoot with the beautiful Cenit Nadir was perfectly timed for the arrival of Kat Von D beauty products that had so graciously been sent to my agency. Kat's line is bold, unapologetic and best of all Vegan and cruelty free. My main focus was on the gorgeous METAL Eyeshadow Palette, that comes with 9 sparkly shades and 13 mattes, with so many options and possibilities, we could've shot all day.
I prepped Cenit's naturally beautiful skin using First Aid Beauty, a brand that is new to me that I'm really enjoying. I like to start with the Ultra Hydrating Serum and then top it with the Facial Radiance Illuminating Moisturizer. The first product plumps and firms while locking in moisture, the second product hydrates and smoothes while adding a subtle glow. The whole FAB line offers great formulas at nice price points.
The first beauty look features two metallic shades from the Metal/Matte Palette, Ignite and Flash, a silvery blue and copper respectively. I love the iciness of the blue for winter, and the warmth of the copper shade for Fall, and even though these colors are opposites, they still work well together texturally. On the lips is the slightest blur of Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft, a beautiful nude, that I pressed on with my fingers for a minimal finish.
*PRO TIP: Using your finger to press lipstick into the lip helps create a subtle stain that can be layered for intensity.*
For the second beauty look I wanted to see if the matte formula would work like a paint if applied wet, and the finish was exactly as I had hoped. The matte white is painted in a stripe across the lid, with a detail of Lightning Liner in Ludwig, an awesome burnt orange shade that is perfect for Fall/Winter, below the lashline. On the lip is Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Plath, a gorgeous warm rust tone that is perfect for cooler seasons.
*PRODUCT TIP: These liquid eyeliners are subtle metallics in clickable pen form, so they can even be used as eyeshadow if you work fast and use your fingers to pat it on the lid.*
These lipstick formulas are so highly pigmented that they leave a stain, so even if it wears off a bit through the day, you are still left with a veil of color. There is nothing worse than chunky remains of a once perfect red lip after a few hours! Just be ready to commit once you decide to swipe it on, as it's hard to go backwards from a bold red.
